MAVLink ATAK Bridge
The RotorLab MAVLink/ATAK Bridge connects any MAVLink ground station to ATAK and your TAK server. Every aircraft appears on the tactical map as a live MIL-STD-2525 track, parented to your GCS and updating continuously. And it is two-way: drop a named marker in ATAK and the Bridge flies the drone. No custom integration, no scripting.
One Bridge handles one ground station. When several crews each bring their own station, the TAK Fleet Server is the hub they all report into, on one map.
Live UAS tracking#
Position, altitude, speed, heading, flight mode, armed state, battery, and GPS, per aircraft, updating continuously. The Bridge publishes standard Cursor-on-Target to your TAK server, or broadcasts direct to ATAK over mesh or multicast. Nothing proprietary sits in the middle.
It is multi-drone and multi-link: run UDP, TCP, and serial links at once. It works with MAVProxy, QGroundControl, Mission Planner, RotorLab GC, ArduPilot, PX4, and SITL. One install handles unlimited aircraft.
Two-way Command-by-ATAK#
A named map marker such as GOTO 2 ALT 400 SPD 5 commands the aircraft, and every verb is something you switch on deliberately.
- Enabled by default: GOTO, RTL, LAND, HOLD, ALTHOLD.
- Available but off by default: GUIDED, ARM, DISARM, TKOFF.
Every command passes a master permit switch, an approved-callsign allowlist, and a range check before it is sent, and every verb that comes off the map is logged with what the autopilot did about it: sent, confirmed, or blocked. Every verb also answers to a one or two character short form, and none of it executes while the master permit is off.
Deployment#
The Bridge runs on Windows or Linux. It is lightweight, has no cloud dependency, and works on a network that never reaches the internet. It ships with a web console with light and dark themes, role-based logins (admin and read-only viewer), and optional organization branding.
For TAK connections it supports mutual TLS: one-click certificate enrollment for OpenTAKServer, or import your own PEM or PKCS#12 when your organization issues its own certificates.
Licensing and purchase#
The Bridge starts at $249 in Single or Pro editions, licensed per install.
- One activation is one operator workstation or server.
- Unlimited aircraft per install: the license counts workstations, not airframes.
- You choose how many installs you need at checkout.
