Plans, add-ons, and billing

RotorLab is sold as plans (the subscription your organization is on), add-ons (paid capabilities layered on any plan), bundles (sets of add-ons at a discount), and credit packs (API credits). This page explains what each carries and how buying works. Billing is managed by your organization administrator: members see a note on My Account that billing is handled by their admin, and only admins can purchase.

You manage all of it from My Account, under the Billing & plan and Add-ons sections. Public prices are on https://rotorlab.app/pricing.

What a plan carries#

Each plan card on the pricing page states exactly what it includes:

  • A user cap (for example "1 user" or "Up to 10 users") and, where the plan grants them, a number of groups.
  • The full calculator, simulator, and reports. Every plan includes the full physics engine.
  • An API allowance: a number of API calls per day, and on some plans an amount of included API credits granted to your organization once when it lands on the plan. You can buy more credits at any time.
  • On plans that state one, a stored flight-log allowance in GB or TB.
  • Included add-ons: add-ons bundled with the plan at no extra charge, listed on the card. A per-aircraft add-on shows either a slot count ("3 aircraft") or "per aircraft".

Trial plans are marked "Free trial" with the trial length in days and require no payment to start. Each email address can redeem a free trial once. While on a trial, the Billing & plan section shows how many days remain; when it ends, the plan line reads "Trial ended" and you upgrade to keep access.

The Subscription card#

On My Account, then Billing & plan, the Subscription card shows:

  • Your plan name, price, and billing period, plus your organization's status.
  • The Included add-ons line, listing every add-on your plan bundles.
  • Usage metrics: users in use against the cap, groups, API requests per day, and included credits.
  • Subscription status for plans billed monthly or yearly: whether it is active, its renewal date, whether payment is past due, or whether it ends at the period end.

Two buttons manage a recurring subscription:

  • Cancel at period end schedules a cancellation. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • Resume subscription undoes a scheduled cancellation before the period ends.

To move to a different plan, pick one under "Request a different plan" and press Request change. A paid plan takes you to checkout; a plan with no charge is submitted for review and applies once approved.

How checkout works#

Card details never touch the RotorLab server. When you buy something that needs payment, you are sent to the Checkout page, which shows an order summary (product, amount, and for multi-unit orders the arithmetic, for example "5 x $20.00"), a Discount code field, and a Pay with card button that redirects you to Stripe's hosted payment page. Your purchase is activated by the payment provider's signed confirmation, not by your return to the site, so closing the browser after paying does not lose the order.

  • Discount codes: type a code and press Apply. The summary shows the discount and new total; press Remove to take it off. A code that covers the full amount replaces the payment buttons with a single Complete order button, and no payment is needed.
  • Checkout returns you to the tab you started from (Add-ons, API & credits, or wherever the purchase began), whether you finish or cancel.

Every plan change and credit purchase appears in the Orders & invoices table on the Billing & plan section, with its date, item, amount, and status (pending, paid, rejected, or canceled).

Add-ons#

Under My Account, then Add-ons, one card per capability shows its status and, when there is something to buy, a buy button. Capabilities include live access (the flight-controller link and calibration tools), the Crash Analyzer, Fleet Manager, Fleet Health, COA Reporting, Currency & Training, Maintenance Records, the Ops Manual Builder, and Public Safety Ops.

Each card states one of:

  • included: the feature comes with your current plan. Nothing to buy.
  • active: you hold it as an add-on, either a one-time purchase with no expiry or a renewable one active until a stated date.
  • not active: not on your account. Buy buttons show the price and billing period (one-time, monthly, or annual).

For organization-wide add-ons billed monthly or annually, a renewal purchase extends your access from the later of now or your current expiry, so renewing early never costs you time.

Per-aircraft add-ons#

Fleet Manager and Fleet Health are billed per aircraft. Their cards show how many aircraft slots are in use ("2 of 5 aircraft slots in use, 3 free") and let you choose how many aircraft to cover before buying; the buy button's total updates as you change the count. On a one-time add-on, buying more adds slots. On a subscription, the count you buy becomes the number you pay for: the seat quantity is carried on your organization's subscription, so adding an aircraft mid-cycle bills the prorated difference rather than opening a separate charge. Every item on one subscription must share a billing interval, so a monthly-billed organization needs the monthly version of a per-aircraft add-on.

Bundles#

Bundles appear above the individual cards: several capabilities at one price, with the list price and your saving stated when the bundle is cheaper than its parts. A bundle you already hold in full says so instead of offering a purchase; if you hold some of its parts, buying the bundle covers the rest and puts them on one line.

Credit packs#

API credit packs are bought from the API & credits section, next to the balance and usage they are spent against. Credits are spent after your daily quota is used up; 1 credit equals 1 API call. See API keys and credits.

Billing details#

The Billing details card stores your billing contact, billing email, phone, tax or VAT ID, and address. These are used for invoicing and shared with the payment processor at checkout. Press Save billing details to store them.

Referral credit on your invoice#

If you participate in the affiliate program as an organization administrator, qualifying referrals earn account credit that is applied automatically, as a discount, to your organization's next subscription invoice. See Affiliate Program.
